Amex Composite
The AMEX Composite (XAX) is a market-cap-weighted, price-only index introduced in 1997 with a base of 550 on Dec. 29, 1995. It aggregates exchange-listed equities and weights daily moves by market value; corporate actions are handled so the index level stays comparable over time.
