Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) tea is a traditional liver-support infusion. Silymarin, the active group of compounds, shows antioxidant and liver-protective properties in some trials, but evidence is mixed. People on prescription drugs - especially antiretrovirals - or with allergies should consult a clinician before using milk thistle.
