Cervical cancer usually develops slowly and is most often caused by persistent HPV infection. Early disease is often asymptomatic, so screening (Pap and HPV testing) and HPV vaccination remain the best defenses. Learn common symptoms, risk factors, and modern screening options.
Symptoms Of Cervical Cancer
Genital Warts
Genital warts are skin growths caused mainly by HPV types 6 and 11. They are diagnosed visually, treated with topical or ablative methods, and largely preventable by HPV vaccination and safe sexual practices.
Hpv Blood Test
HPV is a common sexually transmitted virus. There is no routine blood test to diagnose active HPV. Standard care uses Pap tests and HPV DNA/RNA testing of cervical or vaginal samples; vaccines and screening remain the best prevention.
Human Papilloma Virus
HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer and is linked to several other cancers. Most infections clear, but persistent high-risk strains can cause precancer and cancer. Vaccination and regular screening prevent most HPV-related cancers.
