Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of nonprogressive movement disorders caused by damage to the developing brain. Causes are varied - mostly prenatal, but also perinatal, neonatal, and postnatal - and include prematurity, genetic and vascular factors, infection, and severe jaundice. Early, coordinated care improves outcomes.
