Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR) is an acetylated form of L-carnitine used to support mitochondrial and nerve function. Evidence is strongest for some neuropathies and mixed for cognitive decline; claims of major fat-loss effects are not well supported. Consult a clinician before use.
