Steam Train

The Talyllyn Railway in mid-Wales became the world's first volunteer-run preserved railway in 1950-51. Running narrow-gauge steam services from Tywyn to Nant Gwernol, it still uses 19th-century locomotives, is maintained by volunteers at Pendre workshops, and offers access to Dolgoch Falls and local walks.
